Tecno Phantom X2 Pro review

to introduce

Transsion is one of the brands that Chinese tech giant Transsion uses in its overseas markets, particularly in Africa. The brand is probably best known for its Camon line, a flagship series that clearly focuses on the camera experience. However, there’s also the Phantom series, which has more or less been spun off into its own separate entity. A product designed to offer a true flagship device and experience.

The original Phantom X was released last year, and now the Phantom X2 series has also arrived. It comes in two models: the vanilla Phantom X2 and the Phantom X2 Pro. We currently use the latter in our practice for full revision therapy.

The Phantom X2 Pro is a true high-end device, from its stunning ergonomic unibody design, to its flagship internals with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, huge battery, and even pop-up vertical camera.

The Phantom X2 Pro puts emphasis on photography and we will certainly explore that. It is also positioning itself as an eco-friendly phone, with a special eco-friendly version of the device using recycled ocean plastic for the back cover.

Overall, the Phantom X2 Pro is an all-around flagship device that doesn’t skimp on any particular part of its spec sheet. Some of its other highlights include a 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, dual SIM support, a 5160mAh battery, and 45W fast charging, all packed into a relatively compact body.

Unboxing of the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro

Before we explore the phone itself, let’s take a look at the retail packaging. We cannot say with certainty that the press kit we received was the same as the packaging received by users. It’s worth mentioning. What we got was a rather large two-piece cardboard box. Very solid and nice to look at.

Inside, in addition to the phone hidden in its stand, we found a 45W charger, a Type-C cable to go with it, a hard case with a stand and a nice pair of headphones with a microphone.

The design of this case in particular stands out and is a cut above almost any free case we’ve seen with a phone.
